Am 6. Maerz 2004 werden in Lucca die PUCCINI E LA SUA LUCCA-MUSIKFESTSPIELE ins Leben gerufen. Die Stadt kann sich einer unvergleichbaren Musiktradition ruehmen. Nicolao Dorati, Cristoforo Malvezzi, Gioseffo Guami, Giovanni Lorenzo Gregari, Francesco Barsanti, Francesco Geminiani, Filippo Manfredi, Luigi Boccherini, Alfredo Catalani und Giacomo Puccini sind nur einige der Komponisten die dieser Tradition angehoeren.Ein Land der Musiker also, wovon der weltbekannte Giacomo Puccini wohl der beliebteste und geachtetste ist.Der Kunstdirektor Andrea Colombini hat durch die von ihm gewollten und geleiteten Musikfestspiele “Puccini e la sua Lucca” den Maestro an seine Geburtsstadt unaufloesbar gebunden.

Recitals, Selektionen aus Opern, spezielle Konzerte (“die drei Tenoere”, “die Heldinnen Puccinis”, und vieles mehr).
Die Konzerte werden in der suggestiven Basilica San Giovanni im Altstadtkern Luccas abgehalten, beginnen um 19.00 Uhr und werden von national und international renommierten Saengern und Pianisten gesungen und gespielt.Es handelt sich um eine besondere Gelegenheit die Melodien des wohl beruehmtesten Luccheser, wenn nicht Italieners….in der Geburtsstadt, ja Taufkirche des Komponisten zu erleben. Eine Stadt und eine Kirche die fuer unseren Maestro in seinem Leben so viel bedeutet hat.

Jahreskalender der Musikfestspiele
In der San Giovanni Basilika werden 2 Auffuehrungen pro Woche abgehalten:
- das erste Konzert “UNA NOTTE ALL’OPERA” findet jeden Donnerstag um 19.00 Uhr statt: es handelt sich dabei um Recitals von Arien und Duetten aus den Hauptwerken Giacomo Puccinis und Teilstuecken aus den Werken der Komponisten Verdi, Leoncavallo, Donizetti und Bellini. Programm, Tenor, Sopran und Pianist sind jede Woche anders
- Das zweite Konzert SELEZIONI DALLE PRINCIPALI OPERE DI GIACOMO PUCCINI findet jeden Freitag um 19.00 Uhr statt: woechentlich abwechselnd wird zuerst eine breite Selektion aus der Madame Butterfly dann aus der Tosca (Sopran, Tenor, Bariton und Pianist) gespielt.

Dieser Grundstruktur der Musikfestspiele wird in den Monaten Dezember, Januar und Februar woechentlich ein weiterer Termin hinzugefuegt:
- jeden Dienstag um 19.00 Uhr: ein Konzert unter dem Titel MUSICA DI MOZART E PUCCINI, mit einer Auswahl von Arien und Duetten aus den Hauptwerken beider Komponisten : Don Giovanni, Le Nozze di Figaro, Così Fan Tutte, La Clemenza di Tito, La Bohème, Madama Butterfly, Tosca

Jede Auffuehrung hat eine Dauer von ca. 1,5 Std.Waehrend der Konzerte sind sowohl Videoaufnahmen als auch das Fotografieren nur fuer private Zwecke erlaubt.

Due to the great size of the venue, Tickets are ALWAYS available for each performance SEATS ARE NOT NUMBERED. Seat will be however reserved for groups of more than 20 people in special sectors of the Church. These groups will also obtain special group rates (please contact info@musick.it for further information)

The price of each ticket for RECITAL (concerts every day of the year) is Euro 17,oo
Children under the age of 10 will be charged Euro 12,oo
Students and under 23 will be charged Euro 12,oo
THE ADMISSION FEE INCLUDES CONCERT PROGRAMME AND PROGRAMME COVER with Giacomo Puccini’s biography in English
NO PRESALE RIGHTS WILL BE APPLIED UPON THE PRICE OF THE TICKETS

The prices for the FULL OPERA PERFORMANCES and for the SYMPHONIC AND OPERATIC GALAS (for which seats WILL BE NUMBERED) may change accordingly.

ALL TICKETS (recitals, full opera, symphonic/operatic galas) can be:
a) booked, sending an e. mail indicating number of tickets and name of reference to the email
address: info@musick.it
You will in turn receive an e.mail of confirmation from our Booking Office, stating the receipt and
confirmation of your booking.
No advance payment and/or credit card guarantee is required. The tickets booked via e.mail will be then collectable at the Festival ticket office at the Church of San Giovanni in Lucca, on the same day of performance, from 6 p.m. till 7.15 p.m. In case you are unable to collect the tickets by 7.15 p.m., the booking will be automatically cancelled with no penalty whatsoever for the buyer.
VERY IMPORTANT: The tickets can be paid cash only, IN EUROS.

b) directly purchased at the Church of San Giovanni ticket office, everyday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., or/and at all the authorised selling points in Lucca (showing the Festival ticket sale advertisment). You can buy tickets for all dates of concerts, paying them cash only.

The Festival artistic direction announces that changes might happen in the programme which is going to be performed night by night. All concerts and recitals in a week (from sunday to sunday) have however different programmes and different performers.
A special concert programme (complete with a short biography of Giacomo Puccini and a story of the Puccini e la sua Lucca Festival) will be available at the Church of San Giovanni - Lucca, at the Festival ticket desk, on sale from 6 p.m. on. The price of each programme is E 1.

Taking pictures and videos is allowed during all concerts and recitals provided there is no disturb to the performance or it is done while seated.
No pictures and /or videos are allowed in any form during the full Opera performances.

ALL MOBILE TELEPHONES MUST BE SWITCHED OFF BEFORE THE START OF THE PERFORMANCE.
FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 4 ARE KINDLY REQUESTED TO TAKE SEAT AT THE END OF THE CHURCH.


AN INTERVAL OF 10 MINUTES BETWEEN THE FIRST AND SECOND PART OF THE CONCERT IS USUALLY SCHEDULED. IN SOME CASES, THE INTERVAL CAN BE CANCELLED, ACCORDING TO THE NEEDS OF THE PERFORMERS. IN THIS CASE, THE CANCELLATION WILL BE HOWEVER ANNOUNCED TO THE AUDIENCE BEFORE THE START OF THE PERFORMANCE.
THE CHURCH HAS NO BATHROOM FACILITIES AVAILABLE FOR THE AUDIENCE.

NO PERFORMANCE ON THE 13TH SEPTEMBER DUE TO THE CELEBRATIONS FOR THE HOLY CROSS
SPECIAL CONCERTS ON THE DAY OF CHRISTMAS, BOXING DAY, NEW YEAR'S EVE AND NEW YEAR'S DAY WILL TAKE PLACE AT 6 p.m.
