In the Media Valle del Serchio there is Bagni di Lucca, famous for its thermal baths. At the end of 1880s and the beginning of 1900’s, the baths were famous for the relief and their natural way to fortify health.

Young Puccini worked there as pianist in the local casino, and then, as an adult, he came back there to relax in the quiet of the place.

The landscape of Bagni di Lucca influenced the maestro for the music of La Fanciulla del West and the last project of Turandot.
